IP Infusion celebrated its 25th anniversary—its Silver Jubilee—in a significant way. This milestone event marked a quarter-century of innovation and leadership in the networking industry. The celebration highlighted the company’s growth from its founding to its current standing as a key player in providing cutting-edge solutions for network operators and equipment manufacturers.
We were fortunate enough to be able to host the original founders of IP Infusion, Yoshinari Yoshikawa (Yoshi) and Kunihiro Ishiguro (Ishi). Mr. Yoshikawa and Mr. Ishiguro are industry recognized as originating the networking software market with their product ZebOS. ZebOS, which we now call OcNOS CP (Control Plane), represented a significant milestone to the networking market as the first pure software product in the networking market, previously dominated by a handful of complex and expensive monolithic system vendors.
ZebOS truly democratized the networking industry for the first time and in 1999, these gentlemen set to prove that the software networking market is not only a viable one, but one that was novel and necessary as the maturing networking market sought new avenues for growth.
Leveraging the nimbleness of a true start up company in Silicon Valley at the height of Internet mania, ZebOS rapidly carved out a unique space in the marketplace. Subsequently, recognition by both the financial and technology community followed, and IP Infusion was born.
A quarter of a century later, the original founders joined the current staff and executives of IP Infusion to kick off what hopefully will be the beginning of another 25 years, and beyond. Today we have over 600 customers that leverage our open networking software as an alternative to legacy hardware equipment.
I had the pleasure of providing the introduction to the festivities, which included:
- Keynotes by the founders of IP Infusion, as well as our current CEO Atsushi Ogata (Ishi, Atsushi and Yoshi are featured left to right above).
- Recognition of contributions from both the team and the broader network ecosystem, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
- Food and catering featuring Armadillo Willy’s BBQ and Dish Dash of Santa Clara.
IP Infusion’s Silver Jubilee celebration emphasized the company’s vision for the future, highlighting its commitment to continued growth and its role in shaping the future of networking technologies. The event fostered a sense of pride, unity, and optimism for the next phase of the company’s journey.
Thank you to all who attended our celebration. It was a pleasure to catch up with alumni and friends. I hope to see you all at the 50th Golden Anniversary.

Kelly LeBlanc is the Chief Marketing and Product Officer for IP Infusion.
